The Mi 10 is Xiaomi’s new premium phone launched globally in March. The smartphone features the quad camera with the main sensor of 108 MP. In addition, it also features a 6.67-inch screen, Snapdragon 865 processor, up to 12 GB RAM, storage up to 256 GB, 4,780 mAh battery and Android 10. The phone comes to rival top-of-the-line phones like the Galaxy S20 and iPhone 11 Pro.
Mi 10 prices start from 3,999 yuan (about R $ 2,839 in direct conversion). Interested consumers will be able to purchase units in ice blue, peach gold and titanium silver.
One of the most attractive highlights of the Mi 10 is the performance. The phone has the Snapdragon 865 processor (octa-core up to 2.8 GHz), considered the most advanced Qualcomm currently. The chip is required to run 5G resources and works in conjunction with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage. In addition, the phone leaves the factory with Android 10, the latest mobile operating system from Google.
With these attributes, the Mi 10 should provide a fluid experience in using the system, running basic applications, as well as a good performance in games that demand more from the phone. The smartphone also comes with a 4,780 mAh battery that supports fast recharging up to 50 W.
2. Quadruple camera
The photographic set of the Xiaomi phone features a quad camera with a main sensor of 108 MP. The other cameras comprise a 13 MP ultra wide, a 2 MP macro and a 3D camera also with 2 MP. The arrangement should provide the user with images with greater definition. The front camera records selfies up to 20 MP.
Xiaomi even made a test with the 108 MP sensor sending it into space with the intention of photographing the planet Earth. The Mi 10’s camera still draws attention due to the hybrid zoom of up to 50 times and the video recording in 8K.
3. Curved screen
The Xiaomi phone has a screen with curved edges, just like the Samsung Galaxy S20. The display features 6.67-inch Super AMOLED technology and Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels). The refresh rate present on the smartphone is 90 Hz.
The Mi 10 does not come with the controversial notch. The front camera is housed in a hole inside the display in the upper left corner of the panel. The phone also has fingerprint biometrics integrated into the screen itself.
1. No memory card slot
One of the disadvantages of the Mi 10 is that the phone does not have a memory card slot like the microSD. The user will have to rely on a fixed storage of 128 GB or 256 GB. In addition to competing smartphones offering larger storage, video and image files made with the 108 MP sensor are likely to be larger than traditional cameras.
Therefore, it is possible that users who take a lot of photos will need ample storage or it will be necessary to do a file cleaning on some occasions. An interesting option may be to use applications that write data to the cloud such as Google Drive or OneDrive.
2. Without water resistance certification
As it is a premium cell phone, the Mi 10 was expected to come with water resistance. However, the Xiaomi smartphone does not contain any water certification, so it is best to avoid walking with the phone in hand on rainy days. Competitors like the iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S20 are IP68 certified, the most advanced alternative today.
