Xiaomi Continued Its Steady Growth


Xiaomi: The star name of the smartphone market, Xiaomi, continues to grow in all areas. The company, which is the leader of the television market in China, has also covered a significant distance in terms of the number of active users.

Xiaomi last quarter revenues

According to the company statement, total revenue in the third quarter of the year increased by 8 percent to 78 billion yuan. Net profit, on the other hand, increased by 5.2 billion yuan, a record 87.4 percent year on year. Xiaomi’s revenue from markets outside of China reached 40.9 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2021, accounting for 52.4 percent of total revenue.

As of November 22, 2021, Xiaomi’s 30-day MIUI active users worldwide exceeded 500 million, reaching an important milestone. The number of monthly active users in China increased by 16.4 percent year on year to 127.3 million. In September, the number of Xiaomi smart TV and Xiaomi Box users increased by 33 percent annually. As of September 30, 2021, the number of paid TV subscribers reached 4.7 million, an increase of 13.5% compared to the previous year.

Xiaomi’s gaming revenue grew 25 percent year on year to 1 billion yuan, driven by strong performance of high-quality new games and higher gaming average revenue per user (“ARPU”) driven by premium and gaming smartphones. Xiaomi’s revenue from other value-added services was 1.6 billion yuan in the third quarter.

In the third quarter, the group’s worldwide smartphone sales reached 43.9 million, despite the difficulties in the supply of key components. According to Canalys, the group ranked 3rd with a 13.5% market share in smartphone sales in the third quarter. With 3,000 yuan or more in China and 300 euro or equivalent in overseas markets, worldwide sales of Xiaomi smartphones reached 18 million, accounting for more than 12 percent of total sales.

On the television side, total sales reached 3 million. Revenues grew by 19.5 percent. While the total number of Internet of Things devices was 400 million, the number of MIJIA users reached 60 million. The number of users who own 5 or more MIJIA devices reached 8 million.
