Over the past few days, new information has emerged suggesting that various NXT talents are on their way to advance to the top WWE brands. Matt Riddle was the first confirmed fighter, being announced as a new addition to Friday Night SmackDown, debuting this coming Friday.
WrestlingINC exclusively publishes two names that would also be currently considered by the board: Io Shirai and Velveteen Dream, without indicating to which brand they would arrive. Both talents will be featured fights this Sunday at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, with Io Shirai challenging for the Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. For his part, Dream will fight for the NXT Championship against Adam Cole in a “Backlot Brawl”.
After debuting in WWE in 2018, Shirai has become one of the most prominent fighters in the NXT women’s division. In recent weeks she has been involved in the starting scene, even competing against Charlotte Flair. As for Dream, he has also been a very relevant part in the development of the yellow mark in recent years, having achieved the North American Championship and maintaining a recent rivalry against Adam Cole for the title.
Other talents who have been rumored to move up are Dominik Dijakovic and Chelsea Green. Dijakovic would be heading to Monday Night RAW, as confirmed by Fightful, Wrestling Observer Newsletter and PWInsider. For his part, Green would be something that was being discussed as a possibility, as WrestleTalk advanced, but it still would not be something 100% decided.
