Love Island in the UK has returned to its winter series of 2023, and there are weeks of romance and drama ahead, but does the show air on Saturdays? Here’s what you need to know.
The last season of “Love Island” in the UK starts on January 16, when a new cast will arrive at a villa in South Africa in order to find love and win prize money.
The ITV show returns with a new host, Maya Jama, and fans are already looking forward to eight weeks of entertainment, with new episodes almost every night.
In previous seasons of the show, there were no standard editions on Saturdays, but will it be the same on winter Love Island 2023?
Winter Love Island 2023 on Saturdays?
There will again be no standard episodes of Love Island UK on Saturdays in this series, however you will still be able to get a fix for new content.
On Saturdays, the usual show will be replaced by “Love Island: Invisible Bits”, which will feature exclusive invisible content from the previous week.
Love Island: Unseen Bits will usually be broadcast on Saturdays at 21:00 on ITV2 and will be available to watch on ITVX.
Why is there no love island on Saturday?
There have been conflicting reports from former actors about what happens at the Love Island Villa on Saturdays. The participant of the 2017 contest, Kem Cetinay, said that the reason why “Love Island” does not air on Saturdays is to give the actors a “day off”.
“What happens is that they have a day to clean the villa and you take off the microphones and usually we go to the beach,” the star explained this morning.
“So when you take off the microphones, you’re not allowed to talk about anything related to the show or couples, you have to talk about family life,” he continued.
However, Amy Hart, who appeared on the show in 2019, said that this was not her case. “Saturday is not a day off. We don’t have days off, we have microphones all the time,” she told Closer. “Every day when I was there, I was recorded on a microphone and filmed.”
