Meghan Markle has been through a lot over the last couple of years. From marrying a British prince to having a miscarriage and becoming one of the most popular celebrities, the American actress has come a long way. And with the recent release of the “blackened” documentary series about the couple “Harry and Meghan”, her popularity has risen to a new level.

But before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s popularity made her the role of Rachel Zane in “Force Majeure.” The show helped her gain enough popularity and a platform to raise her voice for the benefit of humanity, especially women. But did you know that Markle became a real lawyer long before she starred in the series?

How did Meghan Markle accidentally become a lawyer?

The 41-year-old actress is not only known for her acting skills and being the Duchess of Sussex; she has also established herself as an activist and philanthropist. Prior to her marriage to Prince Harry, she was appointed a global ambassador for World Vision and a defender of the UN Women structure.

According to CNBC, in 2015, Meghan Markle told at an event of the UN Women Structure that she accidentally became a lawyer when she was barely 11. The story behind this is quite interesting. It goes back to when Megan was in high school, and one day she saw an advertisement for dishwashing liquid on TV, which said: “Women all over America are struggling with greasy pots and pans.”

Two boys from her class noticed that the kitchen is a place where women belong, and this made Megan very angry. When she shared this incident with her father, he advised her to write a letter, and she wrote it, addressing herself to the soap maker, TV journalist Linda Ellerby, lawyer Gloria Allred and the then American. First Lady Hillary Clinton.

Surprisingly, she received encouraging responses not only from all these women, but also from the film crew who documented the whole case. Moreover, the soap company changed the phrase “Women all over America” to “People All over America.” And that’s how Meghan Markle won her first case!
