WhatsApp: Nobody disputes that one of the most loved, and used, features in WhatsApp today is the speed control when playing voice messages. Used to speed up by up to twice those audios from family and friends who love to share news in the smallest detail, the functionality was so successful that the cross-platform application decided to extend it to forwarded messages.
That’s because, although you can speed up the audio you received directly from your aunt who thinks she’s Fantástico’s anchor, it’s still not possible to do the same with messages that are forwarded from another conversation. However, according to the WABetaInfo website, a new feature in development, not yet available to beta testers, will resolve this issue.
Speeding up conversations
As shown in the video, the WhatsApp team is working on a speed control button (by 1x, 1.5x and 2x) on those voice messages forwarded by third parties, whether in an individual conversation or in a group.
The folks at WABetaInfo caught the news in a beta version of WhatsApp for iOS that has not yet been released precisely because it is in early development. The expectation is that the update will be available soon for both iPhone users and those with Android phones.
