WhatsApp released this Wednesday (8) version 126.96.36.199 for users who use the beta version of the messenger on the Android system. According to the WABetaInfo website, the update brings “hidden references” to the app’s new Communities functionality, indicating that the company is actually developing the feature.
In short, WhatsApp communities should work in a similar way to Discord channels. It will be possible to create, for example, a community for a certain subject of the school or college. Within the community, groups of each “panelinha” of the class can be linked. Thus, the teacher will have access to all groups, facilitating management.
Another example is to imagine a community as a space for discussions of movies or series in general, and separate classes to watch and comment on specific genres.
