Your favorite idols have taken the time to answer some of the most important questions related to K-pop in a new documentary!

TVING’s original “K-Pop Generation” introduces a new format of “factual entertainment” by adding archiving and dramatization to a documentary. Top-notch artists representing K-pop including Kangta, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Sunmi, SHINee’s Minho, 2PM, Highlight, EXO’s Suho, MAMAMOO’s Hwasa, NCT’s Doyoung, Stray Kids, TXT, AleXa, ENHYPEN, IVE, and LE SSERAFIM as well as foreign artists JO1, SB19, and NiziU will appear according to the theme of each episode.

After the release of the first teaser, TVING released another short review of the documentary, which will shed light on the fast-growing K-pop industry and the life of K-pop idols in it.

The trailer shows a number of stars representing several generations of K-pop who sit down to talk about what it means to be an idol, about the music they make, about their fans and the expectations that accompany them every step of the way. I.N from Stray Kids describes K-pop as an all-encompassing form art, keeping in mind how all the components make up the overall picture that we see.

Kim Do-hoon, CEO of RBW, comments that fans are the ones who made this whole industry possible. “It was really interesting,” says SHINee’s Minho. “I didn’t do anything, so why do [fans] like me?”

The teaser then highlights the impact K-pop has had on the world despite what idols might feel. Fans who have created YouTube channels to show their love for K-pop, K-pop critics and even academics share their opinions about the music genre and industry, as well as praise the impact they have had on a global scale.

Lee Sung-su, CEO of SM Entertainment, comments, “This is a game where there is no right answer. That’s because it’s not as unambiguous as saying something like “one plus one equals two.” To confirm his point of view, Yesob from Highlight tells how they started as a band BEAST and returned as Highlight.

The atmosphere becomes a little more serious when the idols talk about some of the worries and fears associated with such an impressive job. Taehyung from TXT says: “Then I couldn’t understand my world. It’s not easy.”

“I’m afraid they’ll think, ‘Huh? Where is the ENHYPEN I knew?”, — admits Jeongwon from ENHYPEN, and Ahn Yoo Jin from IVE recalls how many misunderstandings arise in her work.

“Why can’t I just give up?” says MAMAMOO’s Hwasa with a laugh.

But, despite the hard times, all these artists have one thing in common. “I really want to remain an idol in the future,” EXO’s Suho says, perfectly summarizing what every K—pop idol probably thinks.

The teaser ends with the words: “The essence of K-pop is dreams,” making viewers feel inspired, hopeful and curious to know the whole story.
