Coldplay have shared a clip of them performing “My Universe” taken from their upcoming live concert film — first watch it exclusively on NME above.
The footage is taken from last year’s performances of British rock veterans in Buenos Aires and will be available for full viewing in the upcoming concert film “Coldplay – Music Of The Spheres: Live At River Plate”.
The release is scheduled for April 19 and 23. NME has received an exclusive clip from the upcoming release, on which the band performs their hit “My Universe”. The Grammy-nominated track was originally released in 2021 and featured K-pop icons, BTS.
In a four-star review of the song last September, NME described “My Universe” as a release that promotes “love and acceptance” as well as “a subtle manifesto of togetherness despite the walls society may try to erect between us.” It appeared on the band’s ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres”.
As previously announced, the upcoming concert film will include many shots taken from the sold-out ten-day concert of the band in this hall last October.
Although the footage was originally broadcast in 81 countries at the end of last year, various shots that were not included in the original broadcast will be shown at the upcoming presentation of the cinema. This includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes short film and new interviews with the participants.
Remixes and remastering of sound and visual effects are also included in the upcoming film — using 30 cameras, racing drones and 360° shooting techniques shot by BAFTA winner and Grammy nominee director Paul Dugdale.
“Following our hugely successful and record—breaking live broadcast with Coldplay last year, we are excited to bring these incredible shows back to cinemas in a new form in 2023,” said Trafalgar Releasing CEO Mark Allenby.
“This new vision of the concerts, along with a new exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary, will be an event not to be missed for both fans who attended the live screenings and those who joined them for the first time. We are also excited to showcase the film [and give] viewers an even deeper impression of these iconic shows.”
