Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand says the Red Devils are in the race for the title.
Ferdinand made a bold statement after United’s thrilling comeback and victory over Manchester City.
United staged a fight after scoring a goal led by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, who eventually brought his team the winner.
As a result of the victory, United are now one point lower than the Citizens and six points less than the league leader Arsenal.
On Sunday, Arsenal will play a decisive draw with Tottenham, and next weekend they will host United at the Emirates.
If Spurs get a result against the Gunners, the table will look very different as United enter the game with Arsenal.
Arsenal have yet to face Manchester City this season.
Ferdinand shared a video of himself and former teammate Paul Scholes madly celebrating Rashford’s goal.
Ferdinand throws his fist in the air several times and says, “I love this member of the club.”
“We are in the championship race.”
An equally enthusiastic Scholes was also unstoppable in his joy after United beat Pep Guardiola’s men.

Former Manchester City star Joleon Lescott was also in the studio and contrasted sharply with Ferdinand and Scholes.
Lescott recently advised Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez on how to stop Erling Holand.
He argued that taking part in physical battles against a Norwegian is not the wisest tactic, and Haaland will be on top.
The former City player called on Varane and Martinez to block the striker’s serve. Although Martinez did not start with the Show, but took a seat next to Varan, the message seemed to be well received.
Haaland was anonymous, did not feel threatened and did not hit the target.
