Video from The Filming of “Joker 2” Could Reveal One of Lady Gaga’s Songs

The Joker of 2019 told the audience the dark backstory of one of DC Comics’ most iconic villains, played by Joaquin Phoenix. Although director Todd Phillips’ version of the Joker didn’t overlap with Matt Reeves’ Batman, that doesn’t mean that the story of this crazy clown isn’t over yet. Something important to know about Joker: Folie à Deux is that this upcoming sequel will actually be a musical. This interesting discovery shouldn’t have been too unexpected, given that it has been confirmed that Lady Gaga will be starring alongside Phoenix reprising her Oscar-winning role. While we’re still waiting for the release of “Joker 2” in theaters, a video from the set may have shown one of Lady Gaga’s new songs for the upcoming musical.

Lady Gaga’s latest film, House of Gucci, may not have revealed her musical side in her character or even in the soundtrack, but fortunately, this pop star’s voice will shine again in her next film Joker: Folie à Deux, where she plays psychiatrist Harlin Quinzel, who falls in love with Arthur Fleck, also known as the Joker, and becomes Harley Quinn. A new video posted on Twitter by Joker Folie News shows Lady Gaga carrying the tune for a new musical. Listen to this video from the set below:

The “Born This Way” singer may not be present in the video, but her voice is memorable enough to be recognized. Twitter was divided on exactly which song the A Star Is Born actress sings. When you hear the lyrics of “Be a Clown”, you think of the song “Be a Clown” by Judy Garland and Gene Kelly. But then you hear the lyrics “Or the scene where the villain is Evil”, which may come from the song “This is Entertainment!”, which was also originally sung by Judy Garland. In any case, it looks like the “Wizard of Oz” singer will be honored again, as she was in a tiny missed detail of “A Star Is Born” when Lady Gaga’s character sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” at the beginning of the film. This makes me wonder if “Joker 2” will be exclusively a musical from a jukebox or if original songs will be added to it.

The first Joker movie gave us some idea of how important music is to the story of this supervillain. In addition to the Joker’s many murders, his insane clown persona dances surprisingly much, and Todd Phillips explains that there is a lot of music in Arthur Fleck. As soon as he turns into the bloodthirsty villain that the audience expected, the music inside him is released. We see him dancing poetically in an abandoned bathroom after committing his first murders, as well as during the famous scene on the stairs, which has now become a huge tourist destination.

These dance scenes were very important to the Joker because they showed the birth of the sadistic villain that the audience was waiting for. After falling into insanity, he feels happy for the first time compared to the feeling of a failed stand-up comedian. With the songs that will appear in the sequel, we will be able to dive deeper into the wild minds of the Joker and Harley Quinn. It will only be a matter of time before “Joker: Foley-a-de-dee” becomes the next Broadway adaptation.

In her usual Lady Gaga manner, she was apparently putting work into “Joker 2,” and an inside source said she was “immersed” in her new role and “wants to kill her.” Should we just give her an Oscar right now? When the movie “Joker: Folie à Deux” opens in theaters on October 4, 2024, get ready to watch the first movie about the Joker on an HBO Max subscription.
