Vaio announced last Tuesday (1) the two new notebooks FE14 and FE15. According to the company, the products arrived in Brazil before the world launch due to the increase in the practice of home office in the country, due to the quarantine to combat the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Regarding prices, the 14-inch version is on sale for R $ 2,499, while the 15 “option appears for at least R $ 2,699. The models stand out for the presence of tenth generation Intel Core processors , in addition to having SSD storage and liquid drop resistance in general.
According to the Vaio announcement, the new products are compact and efficient. In addition, with interesting specifications, the devices promise good performance, despite the lower price compared to other ultrabooks. The models have a modern design, with thin edges on the screen and a lead-colored exterior. Regarding the interfaces, both have USB, HDMI and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity in the 5.0 standard.
The FE14 features a 14-inch LED screen with thin edges and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). The user can choose between the 10th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, which should guarantee high performance on a daily basis. In addition, the device offers up to 8 GB of RAM and there are options with storage in HD or 256 GB in SSD NVMe, which is up to four times faster than conventional SSDs.
According to Vaio, the device also has some interesting extra features, such as a powered USB port, which allows charging electronic devices even with the notebook turned off, in addition to resistance to spilling liquids. Regarding the battery, the promise is of autonomy for up to seven hours of use on a single charge.
The most complete model in the FE line also comes equipped with Intel’s 10th generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor and ultra-thin edges on the screen. However, the FE15 has a 15.6-inch display and options in HD (1366 x 768 pixels) or Full HD. Because it is slightly larger than the model mentioned above, the device has a numeric and backlit keyboard.
The notebook can also be found with up to 8 GB of RAM and has storage of up to 512 GB in SSD – another option is a traditional 1 TB hard drive. More robust, the product has greater battery power, maintaining the autonomy of approximately seven hours of use. In general, both Vaio FE14 and Vaio FE15 are available with Windows 10 systems, in Home or Pro versions, or Linux.
