The Google Play Store removed the mobile application that former US president Donald Trump used in the 2016 and 2020 elections. Saying that the application has lost its functionality, Google officials stated that the developer was contacted, but no return was received, so they removed the application from the store.

Today, the Google Play Store has decided to block Donald Trump.

 

When Trump was running for president in 2016, he had a mobile application prepared. In this application called “Official Trump App”, election propaganda was made, promises were listed, and people were allowed to share their thoughts. Trump’s team had updated this application and continued to make election propaganda for the last election held at the end of 2020. This application is no longer available in the Google Play Store.

At first, no official statement was made regarding the removal of Donald Trump’s application from Google Play. The application, which could not be found on the listing page, could only be accessed by users who had previously added to their library, but they also could not use the application. Some users stated that the logo Trump used in the elections was in an endless loop and the application did not react at all.

After several hours of uncertainty, Google broke its silence and made a statement. Stating that the application has become dysfunctional due to the developer, Google stated that the developer has been contacted several times but no return has been received, and it has been decided to remove the application from the store in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions of the Google Play Store. However, it remains a mystery for now what the developer-induced problem is, whether the application will be re-published or not.
