The last time Timothy Chalamet worked with director Luca Guadagnino, everything was going incredibly well. “Call Me by Your Name” became one of the most popular films released in 2017, won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and strengthened Chalamet’s reputation as one of the best actors of his generation. So since then we’ve been waiting for the reunion of the star and the director, and now that we’ve had our first look at “Bones and All that,” our expectation has only increased.
The world premiere of the film will soon take place at the Venice Film Festival, and Timothy Chalamet has published the first trailer for the film “Bones and all that” on his personal Instagram page. It’s not what you would call an extended preview, as it only lasts 29 seconds, but it correctly conveys the atmosphere this feature is aiming for, and it seems like a solid mix of horror and romance.
Based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, “Bones and Everything” tells the story of Maren (Taylor Russell) and Lee (Timothy Chalamet), a pair of young outsiders in 1980s America who meet and fall in love. They embark on a long journey together, trying to escape and understand their past, and adds a little wrinkle to the relationship by the fact that Maren is an obsessive cannibal.
What’s especially fascinating about this Bones And All teaser is the representation of the genre. It lures you with romance when two beautiful young lovers are sitting face to face, and Lee asks Maren, in fact, to forgive his mistakes… but then things change quickly. In fact, we don’t see anything terrible in the next montage (for example, there are no shots in which Maren attacks anyone), but everything scary sells very well with the sounds of screams and shots of frightened faces.
That’s not all…
