The developers have announced that preview footage from The Day Before will be available for viewing this month.

Back in January 2021, Fntastic, the developer of The Wild Eight, announced its new post-apocalyptic MMO for survival in the open world.

The news came with a trailer that featured five-minute footage from the game, demonstrating the gameplay of a third-person shooter, as well as the mechanics of stealth, crafting and inventory.

It was followed by 10-minute gameplay footage in April, but updates and news have been limited since then.

In May last year, it was confirmed that the “Day Before” was postponed to 2023.

Now Fntastic has confirmed that footage from the game, one of the most anticipated Steam releases, will be available for viewing this month.

“We are pleased to inform you that the wait for news about the release of our game is coming to an end,” Fntastic wrote in a Discord message (via PC Gamer).

“After careful consideration and discussions with our management team, we have received permission to share the information you have been looking forward to.

“This month we will publish raw gameplay footage in accordance with numerous requests received from our community. These frames will demonstrate most of the features and gameplay elements requested by our community and give a clear idea of the current state of development of The Day Before.”

According to Steam, the release of The Day Before is scheduled for March 1, although Fntastic’s statement hints at the possibility of further development.

In June last year, it turned out that Fntastic used free volunteers to create the game.

The developer then defended his use of unpaid “volunteers,” writing in a website update that: “Fntastic’s culture is based on the idea of volunteering. This means that every Fntastic participant is a volunteer.”

It was further explained that while “full—time volunteers” are essentially paid employees, “part-time volunteers” are unpaid developers who instead receive “cool rewards, participation certificates and free codes” for their work.
