Jeon Do Yeon, the star of the upcoming Netflix action movie “Kill the Boxer,” told how she ended up in the movie.

During a press conference dedicated to the film today (March 21), the South Korean actress said that she signed up for “Kill Boksoon” even before the script was ready.

“I’ve always wanted to do action movies, so I was intrigued by Director Byun Sung Hyun’s suggestion. But I really didn’t know about the specifics of the film because the script wasn’t ready,” she said, according to The Korea Times.

The actress then admitted that she was “scared” after receiving and reading the finished script, “because the combat scenes and combat scenes turned out to be more intense than I expected.”

Kill Boksoon director Byun Sung Hyun shared his memories of the events, saying that it was Jeong who reached out first after the couple met on the set of the 2019 film Birthday. “One day she called me and asked if I wanted to make a film written by someone else,” he said.

“I said I wanted to write my original story and asked her if she would be interested in starring in my next movie,” Ben continued. “She said yes.'”

In the movie “Kill Boksoon”, Jeon plays a professional contract killer who is also a single mother of a teenage daughter. But soon her lives begin to collide when she finds out that her next target is someone who attends her daughter’s parent—teacher meeting.

Kill Boksoon will premiere on March 31 exclusively on Netflix. Watch the latest trailer here.
