The release date of Returnal on PC became known.

Originally released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, the third-person shooter will soon be available on PC, which will open up new game features with a higher frame rate and other benefits. The official release date for PC is February 15.

Rumors about the PC version were circulating last year before the release “in early 2023” was confirmed at the December awards ceremony of The Game Awards.

The PlayStation blog for the release also includes PC specs. At a minimum, the game will require 60 GB of memory (SSD is recommended), 16 GB of RAM and a graphics processor Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB).

For the best performance, an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti (12 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT (16 GB) graphics processor is recommended, as well as 32 GB of RAM. Returnal will offer 60 frames per second in all graphics modes.

Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR have been added, allowing players to increase the frame rate without compromising resolution, as well as Nvidia NIS.

Ray-traced reflections are now included in addition to ray-traced shadows, and there are also two new ultra-wide resolution formats: 21:9 and 32:9. There is also keyboard and mouse support, although a DualSense controller is recommended.

“The Return” tells the story of Selena Vassos, an astronaut who lands on the planet Atropos in search of a mysterious “White Shadow” signal and finds herself trapped in a time loop.

Last year, it won the best game at the 18th British Academy Games Awards Ceremony. The PS5 game was released in April 2021, and 560,000 units had been sold by July.

In a five-star review of the game, Tom Regan of NME said, “This is all you could hope for from a next-gen exclusive. However, a fair warning: it can consume your life.
