A new Sonic the Hedgehog game was recently announced. The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog can be played for free and now on PC and Mac. Players will have to solve the case of the murder of their beloved blue hedgehog.
The player’s investigations in The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog will take the form of a murder mystery as players arrive to celebrate Amy Rose’s birthday by taking part in a train murder mystery game. In true Glass Onion style, the game becomes more realistic when Sonic really gets lost during the proceedings.

The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog has a very strong April Fool’s Day atmosphere, and there is a precedent when games were announced as a joke on April 1, before they became extremely popular in the community, and then they had to be created and released for real. Hooked on You, a dating simulator in which you start a romantic relationship with a group of killers Dead By Daylight, is a recent example and one of the NME ratings.
In this case, it seems that Sega decided to get ahead of the fans and release the game simultaneously with the trailer announcing the project.
“We’ve heard your feedback,” reads the trailer, which pokes fun at some of the most ardent critics of games like Sonic Frontiers or Sonic Origins, before revealing that the Sonic team has taken a bold new direction. The one that leads to the death of the traditional Sega mascot.
Sega quickly explains that the game is not canon, so the action does not take place in the established Sonic The Hedgehog universe.
In addition to the “point and click” in-game, it’s clear from the trailer that there will also be isometric platform mini-games, although since NME hasn’t played the game at the time of publication, it’s hard to say how much the game exists for avid mystery fans.
In other news, the developers of Escape From Tarkov from Battlestate Games have published photos of the upcoming addition to the Streets map, which looks like it could add a school to the latest map of the hardcore first-person shooter.
