After being introduced midway through season 2 of “Arrow” and returning to host his own TV show less than a year later, Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen is entering the final stretch of his race. “The Flash” will soon return for its final season, consisting of only 13 episodes, and over the past few months it has been announced that many familiar faces will return to the CW series about the Scarlet Speedster. Now we can add three more names to this list, since Eddie Tone (Rick Cosnett), Eobard Tone officially appeared in the 9th season of The Flash/Reverse Flash (Matt Letcher) and Nora Allen/XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy).
These latest castings were made public by EW, although showrunner Eric Wallace did not specifically say which episodes any of these three characters would appear in. an integral part of the show’s mythology in its own way, so it’s nice to hear that they’ll be back in the final season.
Rick Cosnett was part of the main cast of the first season of The Flash, and Eddie Tone was Joe West’s partner in CCPD and the ancestor of Eobard Tone. Eddie committed suicide in the Season 1 finale of The Flash to wipe Eobard off the face of the earth (which unfortunately didn’t pay off), but Cosnett returned in season 3 as the embodiment of the Speed Force in the likeness of Eddie, and then in season 8 as Eddie returned in Season 1 the season of “The Flash”, when Nora Allen and Bart Allen went to 2014, as well as “The Storm of Death”, using the image of Eddie. Eric Wallace stated that the inclusion of Cosnett in the last season of The Flash “was more than a privilege. It was easy.”
While Tom Kavanagh mostly played Eobard Tone/Throughout The Flash series, Matt Letcher played the character in his original form before he assumed the persona of Harrison Wells. Letcher first appeared as a guest in the role of Eobard during the first three seasons of “Flash”, then his remaining version in time became one of the main villains of “Legends of Tomorrow” in the second season. moved to season 8 of The Flash, though it seems to have met its demise when the original Eobard, still using Wells’ face, used his body as a way to resurrect himself with Negative Forces. Eric Wallace said that a “very special story” was created for Eobard, which resulted in a “wild and bittersweet episode that we hope will appeal to fans – both old and new.”
Finally, after appearing and exiting season 4 of The Flash as an unidentified woman interested in The Flash Team, Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Nora Allen revealed herself to be Barry and Iris’ future daughter in that season finale, and she was the main cast member in season 5. Although the original version of Nora was wiped off the face of the earth when the Cicada dagger was destroyed, a new version of Nora, whose brother was now Bart Allen, debuted in season 7. her incredible portrayal of Nora West-Allen to even greater heights, something viewers have never seen before.”
Other notable Arrowverse alumni appearing in season 9 of The Flash include Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (who died in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” event), David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan, Keynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash. , Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer, Javisia Leslie as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman (as well as a mysterious character), Sendhil Ramamoorthy as Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork and Andy Mientus as Hartley Rathaway/The pied piper. As for the new faces, the only one that has been revealed so far is Richard Harmon as Owen Mercer, the new Boomerang captain who will be a constant opponent this season. In season 9, Jesse L. Martin reappears only as Joe West, and John Cor’s Mark Blaine/Chillblane was promoted to the main cast.
