EDM duo The Chainsmokers admitted that they participated in a threesome with a fan, recalling the experience during a recent interview for the podcast Call Her Daddy.
The episode aired yesterday (January 11) and features band members Alex Poll and Andrew Taggart discussing topics including past love, breakup, and sex. Speaking about the latter, Poll spoke about an experience in Europe when he and Taggart lived in the same hotel room with two beds.
“It’s been a long time,” Poll said of threesome sex. “These were also the days when we had to share hotel rooms. In Europe they have two beds, they don’t even move them apart… so we were almost forced to participate in these scenarios.” Poll further explained the couple’s reaction to the escapade, saying that he and Taggert were “outraged, ‘What the hell just happened?'”
Poll said the threesome, which was one of many the couple had participated in over the years, “was never planned.” Elsewhere in the interview, Taggart talked about sleeping with fans—unaccompanied by Poll—in the early days of The Chainsmokers’ career. Taggart said those meetings were never “with a diehard fan” because they weren’t “wearing merch or anything like that.”
Last December, John Mayer also appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast, telling host Alex Cooper that sometimes he “plays a little naked guitar after [sex].”
The Chainsmokers’ latest album “So Far So Good” was released last May. It includes the singles “I Love U”, “The Fall”, “iPad” and “High”, the latter of which became the duo’s first new track in two years after its release.
Also in 2022, it was announced that the pair would be the first band to perform at the edge of space as part of the mission of the space tourism company World View.
