Beware of spoilers! This article discusses the premiere of the 27th season of “The Bachelor”, which aired on Monday, January 23. Consider yourself warned!
Zack Shallcross’s journey in search of love has officially begun! “The Bachelor”, whose new lead role admitted to being a little nervous, began its 27th season by presenting a cast of thirty women, and, as expected, it was not without drama. Night 1 for the new protagonist included a party bus, a pig, a Mardi Gras parade and more. However, not all the participants made it to the first rose ceremony, and Shallcross told CinemaBlend about this awkward exclusion, as well as how he decided which of the dozens of women he wanted to give the first impression rose to.
Zach Shallcross explained why he sent Madison Johnson home
The host of the 27th season faced a rather difficult situation when he tried to get to know everyone, but Madison Johnson continued to push him away. She became emotional after there was no spark in the kiss between them, and in the end, Zach Shallcross decided to send her home before the rose ceremony. The bachelor talked to Nick Venable from CinemaBlend about what this moment was for him and why he decided to send her home early, saying:
I think with Madison, I wish her all the best. It was like you can’t force something that isn’t there, and I don’t want to take up your time when you know it’s obviously not us, and that’s the most important thing because it’s a sacrifice. to be there, and I don’t want to waste her time on it, away from family, friends and all that, and I never want to lie to her.
The former finalist of “The Bachelor” said that when it became obvious to him that there was no future between him and Madison Johnson, he thought it was right to send her home so as not to start further. He said he wished her all the best after an obviously long night for everyone.
Why Greer Blitzer Got the First Impression Rose
Fortunately, his interactions with other women in the house were not so awkward, and Zach Shallcross kissed more than a few women, whom he will continue to date in the coming weeks. Most of the first night is always the rose of the first impression, and the Bachelor bequeathed that honor to Greer Blitzer, a 24-year-old medical services sales rep from Houston, Texas. Shallcross explained why he wanted to secure this place for his fellow Texan, telling CinemaBlend:
I was kind of just shooting Night 1, moment by moment and just soaking it all in, and when it came time to really give Rose a first impression, I was just looking back at who made me feel most comfortable on a chaotic night. The one that, when I looked back, as if I wasn’t in a permanent circus, in fact. Was it like where I felt most comfortable and I didn’t feel like Night 1 in a mansion filming a show? This is something that really stood out to me, and I thought: “Wow, I didn’t realize how comfortable I was until I looked back at it, and then, you know, gave it to Greer.”
It’s a pretty high compliment that Greer Blitzer was apparently able to calm Zack Shallcross down to the point where he could forget he had just met thirty women, in the hope that one of them would become his fiancee in just a few months. Will she remain the one he turns to in the midst of chaos? We’ll have to wait to see!
“The Bachelor” airs at 8 p.m. ET Mondays on ABC and the next day with a Hulu subscription. Be sure to check out our TV program for 2023 to find out what other premieres are expected in the near future.
