Director David Ayer suggested on Twitter the possibility of a new version of his film Suicide Squad. After confirmation that Warner Bros. will release the long-awaited Justice League “Snyder Cut” on HBO Max in 2021, many fans have taken to social media to question him if this could also happen with the DC villain team feature.
“It is simply not my decision or property. I love WB – it has always been my ‘work studio’. I fully respect and support the incredible path that the DCEU is taking under its administration, ”said the director.
“My version of Suicide Squad can always be just a rumor. And that’s fine, ”he added. The filmmaker also suggested that “Ayer Cut” could win additional scenes that were not in the theaters version, although he did not make it clear whether the project will be released.
It is simply not my call or my IP. I love WB – it’s always been my ‘home studio’ I fully respect and support the incredible path the DCU is taking under their stewardship. My cut of Suicide Squad may always be just a rumor. And that’s just fine. https://t.co/Prlp8bPgy4

In addition, many people turned to AT&T’s Twitter profile to ask for a position on the subject. In response, the owner just made the following statement: “one thing at a time”. Soon after, in another publication on the subject, Ayer said he was “waiting”.
The edited version of Suicide Squad is seen by DC fans as a way to redeem themselves, after the original version’s reception was widely criticized. It is worth remembering that a new adventure of the team will soon arrive in theaters, under the command of James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), and will feature the return of several characters.
