Steve-O Jokes: Bam Margera Is “Britney Spears” Among The Jerks, But in Fact He Has a Good Reason to Take This Star on Tour With Him

It’s been a difficult few years for skateboarding superstar of the early 2000s Bam Marger. His struggle with substance abuse led him to and from rehab, he was involved in contentious legal disputes with the creators of Weirdos and sued his former friends and colleagues on the film, which is why he was almost completely excluded from the fourth film of the franchise. But the Viva La Bam star is out of rehab, claims to be sober and busy. Margera is currently touring as an opening act for her old friend Steve-O. The media personality jokes that Margera is the “Britney Spears” of their favorite MTV franchise, but reveals that he has a special reason why he took the troubled star on tour with him. And this is commendable.

A video showing two MTV veterans practicing stand-up material during Steve-O’s “The Bucket List Tour” was obtained by TMZ. They performed in front of a packed auditorium at the Elsinore Theater in Salem, where Steve-O. can be seen helping Marghera with some jokes as he told stories about his time in rehab and even compared his life to that of Britney Spears as the pop star dealt with her share of headline-grabbing situations. He told the audience that he wanted Margera to go on tour with him because he was afraid that his friend was on the path of an early death and was trying to help him lead a healthy lifestyle and find a “happy ending”.

The stuntman’s goal is commendable. If readers remember, Margera’s Bem admitted in Steve-O’s podcast “Wild Ride!” that he was pronounced dead during a December hospitalization when he was struggling with a nasty blood infection and suffered from four seizures. This encounter with death must have been a terrifying experience that could have been a wake-up call for him and his friends. Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, is no stranger to addiction and recovery. The clown who became a stuntman has not been drinking for almost 15 years and understands how important it is to be accountable to someone who can help you recover.

Recently, Bam Margera has had serious health problems, but it is clear that his wonderful sense of humor is still intact. It’s nice to see that now that his lawsuit with the Weirdo guys is settled, he can start to rebuild his relationship with Steve-O and hopefully with the rest of the team so that he can participate in potential future projects with the team. While “Weirdos Forever” made a splash with good reviews, Marghera’s notable absence (with the exception of one brief appearance) dampened the fun nostalgic trip. You can see some of the gorgeous behind-the-scenes photos of the two during the tour that Glover posts on his Instagram below.

Although we don’t know if “Weirdos 5” is in the plans, co-creator and star Johnny Knoxville hasn’t ruled out a sequel. We hope that if the fifth film in the series materializes, Bam Margera is still clean, sober and in a good place, so he is able to participate in another walk with crotch kicks and beehive slamming. And we wish Margera all the best, peace and good health while he recovers on tour with Steve-O.

Currently, Jackass Forever is broadcast to anyone with a Paramount+ subscription. Also, check out the release schedule of new films for 2023 to plan your next movie.
