Spotify will support artists affected by the coronavirus

Given the economic impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the music industry, the streaming platform Spotify has announced a series of actions to support musicians during difficult times.

Through Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief, they hope to partner with organizations dedicated to the benefit of artists. MusiCare, PRS Foundations and Help Musicians will be the ones who receive donations from the platform, in addition to matching the donations that users make up to 10 million dollars.

Artists will have the possibility to receive donations directly, through the same platform and will have absolute freedom to decide what the money will be used for.

Another benefit that bands will have without a large number of fans will be that the Soundbetter talent market will give up their profits, allowing artists to receive higher percentages of profits for each reproduction.
