Sony yesterday issued a statement announcing that the Playstation 5 presentation that was scheduled for Thursday is postponed. The reason is the incidents that are being lived in the country to protest against racism after the death of George Floyd. This has been Sony’s statement:
“We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4,” Sony said in its statement. “While we understand that gamers around the world are eager to see PS5 games, we don’t feel like the time is right for a celebration and, for now, we want to step back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
Hours earlier he also said: “Systematic racism and violence against the black community. We will continue to work together for a future marked by empathy and inclusion and supporting our creators, players, employees, family and black friends.”
Other companies like Microsoft, EA, Bethesda and Riot Games have joined the protest against police violence and racism.
