Sonos announces Dolby Atmos-powered speaker Arc, which senses its location and bounces the sound off the walls. The particularly high price of the speaker is remarkable.
Sonos, one of the world’s leading speaker manufacturers, announced its first Dolby Atmos powered speaker. Dolby Atmos, one of the most famous technologies when it comes to home cinema, significantly improves sound quality. The fact that Sonos passed such support for a long time did not satisfy the customers. The company seems to have taken into consideration the criticism on this subject, introducing the new Playbar Arc soundbar with Dolby Atmos support.
Introduced at a high price for speakers with a price of $ 799, Arc is Sonos’ first speaker to support Dolby Atmos. “Technically the most complex product we have ever produced,” said Sonos regarding the new speaker.
What is Dolby Atmos?
As an indispensable part of home theater systems, Dolby Atmos brings the ambient sounds to the audience in high quality. The technology, which provides a real cinema experience by letting you hear the sound from above, from the sides and behind, works by reversing the sound from the walls. Ark’s new speaker, Ark, is using this technology very successfully.
The speaker, which includes 11 drivers placed at certain angles, thus adapts to your room and ensures that every sound comes to your ear at the right angle. The speaker can detect where it is, for example, to adjust the bass response and minimize bad vibrations. If you have mounted it on the wall, the speaker will know it.
Arc will also be able to adjust its performance depending on the sound type. For example, if you are not using Dolby Atmos, the ceiling-facing speakers will also be used for this purpose to strengthen the bass sounds. Apart from that, it also has a feature that will increase the clarity of the dialogue to minimize neighbor complaints due to loud noise at night.
When will it be available?
Sonos has pre-ordered the sound system, which will be available at a price as high as $ 799. The speaker will be available in the global market on June 10.
