Sevilla Fired Jorge Sampaoli Before The European Quarterfinal Match With Manchester United.

The Spanish club Sevilla is going to fire coach Jorge Sampaoli, which means that the new boss will be in reserve when they meet Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

After a successful victory over Betis in the 1/8 finals, the Red Devils drew with Sevilla.

At the moment, in the Europa League, United has met with three La Liga teams — Real Sociedad, Barcelona and Betis.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported: “Sevilla is going to fire Jorge Sampaoli in the coming hours.”

“Confirmed — the board is already working on the appointment of a new coach.”

Romano added: “Sampaoli joined Sevilla in October, but now he is going to leave the club, and Jose Mendilibar is the favorite, according to Spanish media.”

Sport clarifies that along with Jose Luis Mendilibar, Jose Bordalas also claims the place of the dismissed Sampaoli.

AS reported that at the moment, Sevilla is counting the numbers to develop a package of payments to Sampaoli.

The Argentine should receive an amount exceeding 10 million euros (8.7 million pounds). Sampaoli’s dismissal came after Nerviones suffered a 2-0 defeat to Getafe on Sunday.

As a result, Sevilla was only two points above the relegation zone.

When club football resumes after the international break, Sevilla will play Cadiz and Celta in La Liga, and on April 13 they will play the Red Devils in the first match.

Erik ten Hag recently spoke about the prospect of meeting with Sevilla and warned that their deplorable form in La Liga means nothing in Europe.

Ten Hag noticed that they are here for a reason, and his players should be wary of the threat they have.

“If you are at this stage of the competition, you are still in it, you have a good team, so this is an opportunity for them to succeed in the season.”

“That’s why we have to show our best football.”
