Samsung Launches Professional Camera App for Galaxy S21 Ultra

Samsung launched this Tuesday (23) a new camera app for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which releases the Pro mode on the phone’s two telephoto lenses. This function, which was previously available in the other sensors of the device, allows you to manually modify various parameters when recording photos and videos.

Entitled Expert Raw, the app arrives first in South Korea and is still in beta mode, working separately from the standard smartphone app. By installing it on the phone, user can adjust shutter speed, exposure value (EV), ISO, focus and white balance just like in a professional camera.

Improved zoom levels, histogram preview and controls for shadow, contrast, highlights, saturation and hue are other features available, offering more precise adjustments as your needs change. Functions are also offered for the primary and ultrawide lenses, which already had such settings by the default app.

Expert Raw also supports HDR and allows you to save images in 16-bit Lossless JPEG and Linear DNG RAW formats. According to SamMobile, the solution includes a button for editing the files in Adobe Lightroom, but it is possible to edit the records in other software as per user preferences.

Stable version available soon

Still in beta, the tool should gain a stable version soon, which will also be released for the Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy Tab S5e, in addition to other devices. For now, it only works on the Galaxy S21 Ultra with Android 12 and the One UI 4.0 interface in South Korea.
