Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny previously joined the league as celebrities owning a sports team. The duo acquired Wrexham A.F.C. back in November 2020. And since then, both Reynolds and McElhenny have left no stone unturned to take the club to the highest level. It is no stranger to the fact that the Canadian is extremely passionate and focused on promoting Wrexham to the football League. However, after months of flawless performance, Wrexham’s dream of promotion now seems uncertain.

Wrexham Association Football Club has always been a well-known club in Wales. Before Reynolds and McElhenny came to power, the club’s entry into the second league was a distant dream. Since Reynolds took over the reins, his investments have helped the club significantly. In addition, the club has had a flawless game since October, as it has not lost a single league match. However, unfortunately, the Red Dragons dropped to second place after Notts County’s 2-0 win over Altrincham. Although Wrexham has a two-game advantage over Notts County, the pressure on Wrexham has never been higher.

Wrexham have never been so close to fulfilling their dream of getting into the Football League. However, if the Red Dragons finish second, they will have to play a lottery playoff to get promoted to the National League. As amazing as it sounds, Wrexham have lost only two games out of the 39 games they have played this season. Although both Notts County and Wrexham have the same number of points recently, the goal difference gave the former an advantage. The team, owned by Ryan Reynolds, has been playing in the National League since 2008.

However, since the star of “Deadpool” together with McElhenny became owners, the duo has achieved impressive success in the club. Wrexham also recently signed former goalkeeper Ben Foster, who has retired to play. Interestingly, Wrexham showed an impressive result last season before finishing second behind Stockport. And it looks like the club is doing everything possible to avoid the same fate this year.

Ryan Reynolds goes to the racetrack with his family

Reynolds is a regular participant in various Wrexham games. Despite the busy schedule, the “Deadpool” star often finds time to attend his cub’s games. In addition, the number of his visits to Wrexham matches has increased significantly this season. And recently he took his beautiful family to a recent club match.

According to the BBC, Reynolds, along with Blake Lively and their children, were part of the club’s match against York. Wrexham beat York 3-0, which was also Ben Foster’s debut match.
