Ryan Gosling will star in the yet untitled stunt film. David Leitch (“Atomic Blonde”, “Deadpool 2”) will be behind the camera and the script will be written by Drew Pearce, who collaborated with the director on “The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs and Shaw”. The implementation will be financed by Universal.
For Leitch, it’s a personal project. Before he took up directing, he worked for years as a stuntman and action scene coordinator. His services were used by authors of the second and third parts of “The Matrix”, “Bourne Ultimatum” and “Captain America: The Heroes Wars”.
Gosling and Leitch will also produce the film. Their joint venture became the subject of fierce struggle between Hollywood studios. Among others, Paramount, MGM and Netflix.
The creators intend to enter the set as soon as possible. Prior to that, Leitch will have to shoot Sony’s action movie “Bullet Train” starring Brad Pitt, and Gosling will star opposite Chris Evans in Netflix’s blockbuster “The Gray Man,” which will be directed by the Russo brothers.
