Rumor reinforces that Apple Glass should even be released in 2021

The Apple Glass augmented reality glasses are due to be launched in 2021. This is the prediction of the DigiTimes website, which would have received the information from industry-related sources.

According to the publication, small-scale production of the product should take place in the first half of next year – which is in line with what was released earlier this week by leak specialist Jon Prossner. Previous speculation points out that the product will be compatible with prescription lenses and should start at $ 499.

Information about an Apple smart glasses is old and dates from a period when Google Glass was already considered a commercial failure, before adopting the business format. Asked in 2017 about the launch of a product in this format, the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, stated at the time that the necessary technology “did not yet exist”.

Possible delay
The product development was initially scheduled for September this year, at Apple’s traditional conference at which the iPhone 12 family of cell phones is likely to be revealed. However, because of the new coronavirus pandemic, the event can be postponed, canceled or adopted in a digital format. This may postpone the company’s plans to advertise the device a little more.
