What is the difference between The Game Awards and the Golden Joystick Award?

Despite the TGA (The Game Awards) being the biggest awards presence of the year, there are several other events, such as the Critic Choice Awards and the Golden Joystick Award. The big difference with the Golden Joystick is that voting is done entirely by the public: a vote on the website counts all votes and the result is defined in this way.

The Game Awards, on the other hand, work differently: media outlets around the world (including Voxel) act as a jury and public participation is small.

So, what did you think of the results of the Golden Joystick Award? Will we see some of the winners repeating at the TGA?
