Later tonight, the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs will meet at the MLB Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa. This fan-favorite game pays homage to the cult 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner and Ray Liotta.
Liotta, who played Joe Jackson in the film without sandals, died in May at the age of 67.
According to recent reports from TMZ Sports, a special tribute will be paid to Liott at some point in today’s game.
This will be another tribute to the “Field of Dreams” for Liotta. Earlier this week, Costner honored his former colleague with a special message on Instagram.
“In honor of MLB at Field of Dreams this week, I wanted to share some memories from the movie, but more importantly, remember the amazing Ray Liotta,” Costner wrote. “Barefoot Joe Jackson will be there with all of us for a great baseball night on the Iowa fields.”
Today’s game at the stadium inspired by the movie will begin at 7:15 p.m. ET on Fox Sports.
