Quarantine flirting: five tips to keep the match interested

With the rapid advancement of the new coronavirus, the recommendation of health experts is to stay at home and avoid dating – including romantics. Even Tinder, one of the most popular dating apps, asked users not to set dates during the Covid-19 outbreak. However, anyone who thinks that the pandemic could hinder the search for love is mistaken. Data from a survey conducted by The Inner Circle app shows just the opposite: as people embrace social isolation, interaction on the app increases.

According to the survey, which was released last week and took into account the activity of Inner Circle users, matches increased by 99%. The number of messages sent, in turn, rose 116%. Typically, the use of applications is already growing in times when people stay at home, but this period is being a record. In the case of Tinder, the app released the Passport function for free, which is exclusive to the paid version and allows you to meet people from all over the world.

While the couple cannot meet in person, it is possible to keep the conversation active and the match’s interest in the flirtation with the help of technology. Next, check out five tips for flirting in pandemic times.

1. Make a ‘virtual movie’
Everyone knows that cinema is usually one of the favorite places for a date. However, with measures imposed by local governments to slow the spread of the coronavirus, many movie theaters in Brazil have been closed. But that doesn’t mean you need to miss the chance to see a good movie with or crush: the Netflix Party extension is there to help you.

Available for Chrome, the plugin allows you to watch movies or series from a distance with someone else – as long as they also have the tool installed. In addition to synchronizing the playback of content on the computer of two (or more) people, the extension offers a chat field where the couple can comment on the production.

2. Make video calls
Ally with couples who date at a distance and want to kill their homesickness, the video call can also be at the service of more casual relationships. According to the Inner Circle survey, there was a 50% increase in people suggesting phone calls or video calls since the beginning of March. The resource is a good way to get to know the match better and take the flirtation to another level. Apps like WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and Skype allow you to initiate free video calls.

3. Use apps to pull subject
Making a point in relationship apps is not always an easy task. If you want to draw the attention of the match, you can use apps that suggest themes to start a conversation. Programs like Tô Sem Subject and Phrases to Pull Subject have phrases and questions to break the ice, such as “which series character do you hate?” and “açaí or ice cream?”. There are also alternatives for those who are already gaining more intimacy with crush and looking for inspiration to create passionate texts.

4. Share playlists
They say it is possible to know a lot about another person because of their musical taste. If you are looking to strengthen ties with the match, try changing musical directions. For this, it is possible to create a playlist on Spotify or Deezer and share it on the dating app itself. In addition to helping you discover new music, the exchange can yield a good conversation.

5. Invest in games for couples
There are a number of applications that you download to play online and in pairs. Relationship quizzes can be a great way to get to know each other’s personality and have fun flirting. An example is the Couple Game app, a card game with questions and answers about interests, behavior, desires, family and other subjects. One needs to guess the other’s answer.
