Xiaomi subsidiary POCO has confirmed it is working on a fully wireless headset. On Twitter, the company suggested that the device will be offered initially in India, considered one of its main markets. According to the publication, the product was the most voted in an opinion poll launched on its social network, so this would be a way to meet the requests of its consumers.
The new POCO wireless headset should maintain the affordable base with some advanced features that have made the Pocophone F1 a top seller. With that, the model would compete directly with Realme Air Buds – similar in design to Apple AirPods, but with economic value.
The novelty also reinforces POCO’s independence from its owner, just as it did with the Redmi line. After a long hiatus, the brand returned to the shelves in February with the Poco X2 cell phone. Ahead, it must adopt the strategy of offering other types of devices outside the category of smartphones, therefore, future headphones should pave the way for this change.
So far, there is no more information on the subject, such as settings and sales forecast in international markets.
