Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final tonight. Here are our player ratings for the game:
(A score of 6 corresponds to the average.)
David de Gea 5.5 – Good save in the first half, but poor distribution added extra pressure.
Aaron Van-Bissaka 5.5 — After a few really promising games, the old flaws are showing up again. Always drifts out of position, turns off and takes a long time to get back. We played better in the second half, maybe Eric stopped talking at halftime.
Victor Lindelof 7 – Got naked a couple of times in the first half and couldn’t recover. Much better in the second.
Lisandro Martinez 6.5 — Statistics say he played well, and experts are not convinced that it was a vintage Lisandro, but it was certainly normal.
Tyrel Malasia 8 – Defended very well. I ventured forward several times and began to master the overlap. Storming performance in the second half.
Christian Eriksen 7 – Everything was going well. A beautiful shot that was unlucky enough to hit a tree.
Casemiro 4.5 is a bad game for the Brazilian, although he participated in the swing until the second goal. Robbed with shame for an hour. Some kind of shocking passage.
Antony 6.5 is better than recent performances, but without the high notes. A great pass to Weghorst’s goal and a couple of good efforts by himself. Still tends to slow down attacks by not releasing the ball fast enough.
Bruno Fernandes 7 – Involved in everything, infuriating at times, brilliant at others. In the end, the goal won us over.
Marcus Rashford 8 is Unstoppable and world class at the moment.
Wout Weghost 8 – Worked hard, did his job well and scored a good goal.
Alejandro Garnacho 6 – It didn’t work out today.
Fred 6— didn’t notice him much.
Facundo Pellistri 6 – Mix 20 minutes. He shot beautifully and almost scored, but lost the ball in the danger zone and realized a dangerous penalty.
Anthony Elanga 7 – Got a perfect pass for Bruno’s goal. Hopefully this will lift his form.
