On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos took part in a joint training session at facilities in Oxnard, California.
Footage of this workout allowed football fans to take a first look at the competition between NFL teams ahead of the 2022 season.
Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was featured in today’s highlights—not because of an ankle-breaking move or a sports touchdown, but because of a big hit from Broncos linebacker Bradley Chubb.
Take a look at the pre-season hit here:
The NFL world reacted to the blow on Twitter.
“Have a seat,” one fan wrote.
“Yeah. And it was also half,” another added.
“Zeke really washed up,” said another.
Elliott hopes to return to the All-Pro form he enjoyed early in his NFL career. He took steps in the right direction last season, gaining 1,002 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 games played, but he still has a long way to go before he is again considered one of the best runners in the league.
Chubb also hopes to return to Pro-Bowl form after missing most of the 2021 season due to nagging injury issues.
The Cowboys will open their preseason schedule with a matchup with the Broncos later this weekend. Perhaps on Saturday we will see this exciting action again.
