The stars of “Forbidden Marriage” said goodbye to the drama!
The romantic drama “Forbidden Marriage”, based on the web novel of the same name, starring Kim Young Dae as King Yi Heon, who falls into deep despair after the death of his wife (played by Kim Min Joo from IZ*ONE). ) and ends up forbidding marriage in his kingdom. Seven years after losing his wife, who was then the Crown Princess, he meets a con artist named So Rang (Park Ju Hyun), who claims that she may be possessed by the spirit of the late princess.
The finale of “Forbidden Marriage” aired on January 21 in the midst of the ongoing Lunar New Year holiday and received an average nationwide rating of 4.7% — this is the highest Saturday rating. After the final episode of the show, the main actors Park Ju Hyun, Kim Young Dae and Kim Woo Seok shared their final comments and chose their favorite scenes from the drama.
First, Park Ju Hyun chose the scene in the last episode where So Rang came forward to meet the Queen. The actress recalled how this scene was filmed, sharing: “My heart was heavy when I portrayed So Rang walking in a wedding dress after persevering through such a difficult path.”
She continued, “Thanks to the character of So Rang, I was able to be with many people whom I loved very much. Just like the hilarious love I received for Forbidden Marriage, I hope everyone can have a good laugh about our project.”
The most memorable scene Kim Young Dae chose was Episode 3, where Both Heon, So Rang and Lee Shin Won (Kim Woo Seok) ride horses together on their way to the hunting grounds. He also chose a scene where Yi Heon falls for So Rang’s trick and they shout “bang, bang, bang” together. These scenes were crucial moments that showed the characters as three unique friends with close chemistry, unlike the king and his servants.
Kim Young-dae commented, “I am very sorry to remove the character And Hong, whom I love. The time I spent crying and laughing with Yi Heon was much more valuable than with all of you.”
The scene in episode 8 where Lee Shin Won is poisoned and regrets his past was the most memorable for Kim Woo Seok. In his favorite phrase, the actor chose “That’s why I will hide this feeling well. I will suppress it and keep it from showing up.” He explained, “These words suited Shin Won very well, and I thought they were words that clearly show his situation.”
Kim Woo Seok then shared, “I was so happy to meet Shin Won’s character. No matter how hard I tried during the filming from summer to cold winter, I hope that you won’t forget Shin Won even after the show ends.”
