The awaited series of smartphones OnePlus 8 was officially announced last Tuesday (14) with two variants: a basic and a Pro. In the settings and in the visual part, the models will show several aspects in common, such as the screen style, camera front, top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865 processor and support for 5G technology.
But, as expected, there will also be important differences between both, such as color options, dimensions, screen size, rear cameras, battery capacity and price. To better understand, check below a detailed comparison between the two devices.
Both can be found in the colors Onyx Black (black) and Glacial Green (green), however, the OnePlus 8 will have an extra variant Interstellar Glow (pink and purple gradient), while the Pro version will offer Ultramarine Blue (blue).
The most basic model will be the thinnest, lightest and smallest, manufactured with the dimensions of 160.2 mm x 72.9 mm x 8 mm and 180 g. The premium model, on the other hand, will feature 165.3 mm x 74.5 mm x 8.5 mm and 199 g.
Depending on the dimensions indicated, the OnePlus 8 Pro will arrive in stores with a screen and resolution greater than 6.78 ’’ and 1440 x 3168 (513 pixels per inch). Your parent will display 6.55 ’’ and 1080 x 2400 (402 pixels per inch).
Another important detail is that the first will offer a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, while the second will reach 90 Hz (still more advanced than the standard 60 Hz). In addition, the aspect ratio on the Pro will be 19.8: 9 and on the OnePlus 8, 20: 9.
Both phones will be manufactured with Fluid AMOLED technology, will support the HDR10 + and the front camera positioned as a “hole”.
Camera and battery
The OnePlus 8 will carry a trio of cameras, with a 48 MP (f / 1.75) main sensor, 16 MP ultra-wide angle (f / 2.2) and 2 MP macro (f / 2.4). In turn, the OnePlus Pro will bring a quartet of lenses, with the main 48 MP (f / 1.78), ultra wide-angle 48 MP (f / 2.2), telephoto 8 MP (f / 2 , 44, 3x hybrid zoom) and 5 MP (f / 2.4) color filter system. Both phones will be equipped with a 16 MP front sensor.
On the battery side, the most basic edition will have 4,300 mAh, and the Pro model 4,510 mAh. Both will provide 30W Warp Charge fast charging, but only the second will support wireless (brand new) and reverse systems.
Specifications and features
As said, the two versions will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 processor, 5G support, in addition to the option of 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. However, the premium smartphone will receive the LPDDR5 RAM system, which promises an additional 30% speed and 20% energy efficiency, compared to the LPDDR4X RAM of the most basic model.
