Metallica fans will soon be able to buy tickets for individual dates of the upcoming M72 tour, during which they will give two concerts — each with a unique setlist – in each city.
Announced in support of Metallica’s 11th album “72 Seasons” (due for release on April 14), the tour will include a total of 46 concerts, evenly distributed among 23 cities. The advantage is that both nights in each city will include completely different set lists and unique opening performances, and Metallica will also perform “in a circle”.
Until now, potential concert-goers had the opportunity to purchase tickets only for both concerts in each city. However, this will only be the case for the next few days, as one-day tickets will go on sale at 10:00 local time next Friday (January 20).
Fans from North America can purchase tickets here. Metallica Fan Club members will also have access to the pre-sale on Monday (January 16).

Architects, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Pantera, Volbeat and Greta Van Fleet participate in the opening of the “M72” tour. The series will begin in Europe at the end of April, after the release of “Season 72”. At the moment Metallica has announced an album with the title single “Lux Æterna”.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the title of the upcoming new record in a press release, frontman James Hatfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our life, which form our true or false self. The idea that we were told “who we are” by our parents. A possible classification around what kind of person we are.”
“I think the most interesting part of this is to further explore these core beliefs and how they affect our perception of the world today. Most of our adult experience is a reproduction or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or liberation from the shackles that we carry,” he added.
In addition to the tour, Metallica will headline the Download Festival next year, which will take place over four days in honor of its 20th anniversary. They will perform on two of these days — Thursday, June 8, and Saturday, June 10 — and Bring Me The Horizon and Slipknot will close the other two days.
