Quatro RTX A6000 Ampere card, which is expected to be the last member of NVIDIA’s new generation card family, has been shared. This card will provide great convenience to professionals.

NVIDIA has recently come out with new Ampere cards. The company, which offers a card for those working on machine learning with the A100, won the hearts of the players who wanted to reach the highest level graphics with the GeForce RTX 3000 series. Next up is the Quadro RTX A6000 graphics card.

According to the image shared by Twitter user Moore’s Law Is Dead, the cards are briefly named RTX 6000. This model was already included in NVIDIA’s previous Turing GPU series.

Quadro RTX A6000 could be launched soon

The account that shares the images about the card has previously announced the features of the card as it is on the control panel of NVIDIA. This gave us some information about what to expect from the card. If the screenshot is correct, there will be 10,752 CUDA cores on the card. The card, whose speed is determined as 1.860 MHz, will have 48 GB GDDR6 memory and 768.1 GB / sec memory bandwidth.

One of the striking points about the card is the memory used. NVIDIA will use GDDR6X instead of GDDR6 on both the GeForce RTX 3080 and the upcoming 3090. The reason for the change here may be that the capacity of the card is at a level that does not require GDDR6X.

More memory, more processing

GDDR6X is generally shown as a somewhat ‘extreme’ type of memory for new series cards. However, in reality, faster memory allows for more processing. The more complex the tasks to be done, the more advantageous it is to have more memory.

At some point, Quadro RTX cards will definitely appear with GDDR6X. Probably those cards will arrive next year. In the meantime, it seems like professionals will turn to Quadro RTX A6000. NVIDIA is expected to officially introduce the new card at the 2020 GPU Technology Conference, which will take place between October 5-9.
