HMD Global aims to offer big innovations on the screen side with Nokia 9.3 PureView. The company’s new flagship phone is expected to bring cameras below the screen and offer a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and OnePlus 8 Pro have the best smartphone screens on the market right now. Apple is expected to make a breakthrough on the iPhone 12 Pro with a larger screen. On the other hand, HMD plans to stay ahead of its competitors with a new display technology to be used in Nokia 9.3 PureView 5G.
In January, it was said that HMD Global tested under-screen camera technology for the new generation flagship, known as Nokia 9.2 PureView. However, it was stated that the company also tested the pop-up camera system as an alternative. It turns out that HMD will choose the pop-up selfie camera in Nokia 9.2 PureView and plans to move the cameras to the bottom of the screen in the next generation.
Nokia 9.3 PureView will come with 120Hz display
Some sources close to HMD Global have suggested that the company has almost completed the solution that carries the cameras under the screen with a technology known as ‘PureDisplay V3’. In other words, the Nokia 9.3 PureView will be presented to the users with a screen without a notch and a hole, as well as extremely thin frames.
Nokia also plans to offer a 120 Hz refresh rate to deliver a high-end display experience on its flagship. Also supported by Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 865 processor, the phone will come with 5G network support.
The Nokia 9.3 PureView is expected to be introduced in August or September with Nokia 7.3. In addition to the above-mentioned changes, the phone is expected to come with a five-megapixel camera system with a 64-megapixel main camera and 108-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor.
