Japan-based video game giant Nintendo has announced that it has been attacked by cyber. The company, which reported that 160,000 Nintendo accounts were affected by the hacking initiative, announced that it has disabled the ability to log into the Nintendo Account via the Nintendo Network ID (NNID).
Nintendo has announced that since the beginning of April, illegally obtained login information and passwords have been used to gain access to a total of 160,000 accounts. While the Japanese company said that aliases, birth dates, countries and email addresses might have been accessed during the violation, some accounts may have made unaware of users.
Nintendo now recommends that all users enable two-factor authentication. The game giant, which resets the passwords of the affected accounts, has announced that the ability to log into the main Nintendo account via the Nintendo Network ID (NNID) has been disabled.
