Nicki Minaj and Alanis Morissette are honored at Billlboard’s “Women in Music” event

Billboard announced the announcements of the 14th edition of the “Women in Music” event, which highlights women’s power and how important they are in the music world. This year, the ones to be honored are Alanis Morissette, Nicki Minaj and Brandi Carlile.

Alanis Morissette takes the highest honor of the night, with the title of icon. Recognized and awarded, she changed the female scene in the music world with 1995’s “Jagged Little Pill” with heartfelt lyrics and intense productions. It’s not hard to find artists to this day who cite Alanis and his most iconic album for inspiration.

Another honoree is Nicki Minaj, with the “Game Changer” award. Its power to open a different space to make an impact will be duly recognized. Since 2010, she has proven that the woman has a lot of voice in hip hop, being one of the most influential.

Finally, Brandi Carlile will be pioneered, primarily for her efforts to give visibility to the LGBTQ + community.

“This event is an annual opportunity to celebrate undeniable influential women from across the industry. This year, with honorees such as Alanis Morisette, Brandi Carlile, Desiree Perez and Nicki Miniaj, we are excited to highlight a diverse group of women who push boundaries and break barriers, ”said Billboard editorial director Hannah Karp.

The event will take place on December 12, with online broadcasting.
