Ni No Kuni II: Three years after its original release, Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom comes to Nintendo Switch. The capabilities of the Nintendo laptop slightly worsen the experience of the classic, although nothing has prevented us from enjoying it as it deserves.
Few franchises can claim to have worked with a studio as powerful and beloved as Studio Ghibli. Level-5’s fruitful mix of talents, along with Hayao Miyazaki and his timeless team, presented us with an interesting rpg that had little to envy the classics. Ni no Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch revealed an introspective title, full of drama, humor, epic, pure-hearted characters, but above all, full of magic. 100 years after the events of the first installment, they delight us with the return of their second independent episode: Ni no Kuni 2: The Revenant Kingdom. A jump to Switch with The Prince’s Edition, a full version of the 2018 game that adds 3 main DLCs, two new difficulty modes, and some cosmetic improvements. How was your arrival ?.
Swords, magic and fun
To speak of Ni no Kuni is to speak from innocence, from the eyes of Ghibli and in the usual language of the J-RPGs. Infused under the ideas of the Suikoden series, Ni No Kuni 2 reprimands a new journey to the Rattlesnake kingdom by putting us in the hands of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, a young heir to the throne who by chance of fate is forced to leave his kingdom. In the role of exiled heir we must restore peace to our city, ending all kinds of enemies and restoring our own kingdom. In this second installment some considerable changes are added, as we go from the classic turn-based fighting to real-time action. In addition to combat, there will also be room for military strategy, puzzle solving, side missions and of course, creating our own kingdom through resource management. One of the elements that does not change is his initial assignment: a person from the real world who lands in a fantasy city without knowing how or why.
Ni no Kuni 2 takes us to the kingdom of Rattlesnake, a colorful place that has been corrupted by the arrival of Ratoléon and his henchmen. His forcible entry leads them to take control of the castle, thus banishing Evan, a young prince. Led by Evan and Roland, in exile we will meet new allies who will help us create our own empire to build a fairer and happier world forever. A place where peace is established and all its inhabitants live in harmony. And most importantly, we will build this place from the foundations, that is, brick by brick.
