The Montreux Jazz Festival made 50 full historical shows available for free on the internet, releasing part of its collection to entertain music lovers during the quarantine period due to the coronavirus pandemic.

One of the most famous music festivals on the planet, the Montreux Jazz Festival has been held since 1967, in Switzerland. Initially, the objective was to become a jazz reference, but little by little the event opened the door to other genres, from rock to hip-hop, even going through axé – the group É o Tchan performed there in 1997.

In addition to the Bahian band, other Brazilians have already performed at the iconic Swiss festival, such as Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Elis Regina, Marisa Monte, Gal Costa and Maria Bethânia, among others. However, there is no show of national artists available in this catalog

In the videos that can be accessed free of charge until April 18th, there are shows of great names in world music, covering the most varied styles. There are performances by James Brown, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, Phil Collins, Etta James, Alanis Morissette, Suzanne Vega, Santana, Deep Purple, Stray Cats, Korn, Alice Cooper, Run DMC and more.
