Mom Went Viral Because She Named Her Baby after a Trip to Disney World

Mom went viral after she posted a video saying goodbye to her favorite attraction at Disney World — Splash Mountain — in which she claims she named her daughter after the attraction.

Initially posting a message on TikTok, Kara, who is known as vegangranolam in the video app, shared her video with her little daughter, saying “Goodbye splash” on the thumbnail of the video.

In the video itself, Kara said: “The attraction, after which I named my daughter, closed today at Disney, I’m so sad.”

The attraction that closed that day was called Splash Mountain, which is why many believed that Kara actually named her daughter Splash Mountain.

Comments on this video were turned off, presumably because people were wondering why she named her baby Splash Mountain.

However, before that, Kara responded to one of the comments with another video, as she was accused of naming her child after a “deliberately racist film”, as the controversy surrounding the origin of Splash Mountain — named after the 1946 film “Song of the South” — continues.

Kara dispelled the confusion by stating that her baby’s name isn’t really Splash Mountain.

“Her name is not Splash Mountain, but Heather,” she explained. “I found out her name because I was looking through a list of baby names on Pinterest, and it reminded me of the little briar on the Splash Mountain attraction.”

Many of the responses to this video supported Kara, offering alternative suggestions if others asked about the origin of the baby’s name, such as Rose Rose or Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty.

Others told her to “ignore the hate” and that Briar was a beautiful name.

There was clearly a big misunderstanding here, as many believed that Kara really called her daughter Splash Mountain, but Briar does come off the tongue a little better.
