After many rumors and even leaks with a preview, Microsoft today confirmed the arrival of a redesigned version of the Xbox Store for owners of the Xbox One family. The novelty will be available from this Wednesday, August 5, as a test beta for users participating in the company’s Insider program.
As detailed in a post on Xbox Wire, the store update promises to go beyond the more modern look based on the company’s Fluent Design, offering a significantly faster and safer experience, while still delivering features much requested by users. Also according to Microsoft, the new Xbox Store is twice as fast as before.
“It launches in less than two seconds, and its browsing performance has been greatly improved – it loads pages faster than ever and finds what you need, whether it’s checking the price of a promotion or watching HD trailers,” said Cody Bird, Xbox General Programming Manager.
Other noteworthy novelties include a redesigned search engine with an easier filter system, a new easy-to-browse wish list, a shopping cart with the addition of new items made easy, as well as renewed navigation between content from all generations of the console and greater security for with new parental controls.
