Microsoft Edge 81 Released with Collections Feature and More

Microsoft Edge 81 has been released as the stable release and has brought many new features. The new update offers Dolby Vision support and improvements as well as the Collections feature.

Microsoft Edge 81 has been released for supported Windows and Mac platforms. The new 81.0.416.53 version of the browser came with new improvements that have been tested for several weeks in Dev and Canary versions, including Collections.

First of all, Microsoft Edge 81 provides better security with Application Guard improvements. Application Guard helps protect your device against advanced attacks by opening websites in an isolated Microsoft Edge window. In addition, with the new update, additional improvements and 10 new language support have been introduced to the F12 Dev Tools.

Collections, Dolby Vision support and more
Users can now launch Collections by clicking the Collections icon next to the address bar. Collections help collect, organize and share content while browsing the web. With this feature, you can turn a scattered paragraph series into a spreadsheet with quotations or a shopping list by price.

Dolby Vision support has also come to Microsoft Edge for those who use the browser to watch videos. Dolby Vision technology provides a much more homogeneous image by increasing the color range in HDR supported videos.

Improvements to Bookmarks
With the new update, the browser can now identify and remove duplicate content in bookmarks and merge folders with the same name. To access the tool, you can remove duplicate favorites by clicking the star in the browser’s toolbar. By approving the changes, you can synchronize all the updates in your favorites among the devices.

Microsoft Edge 81 has been released for all supported platforms, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and macoS. You can download the latest version of Chromium-based Edge here.
