Tesla CEO Elon Musk, known for his love of Dogecoin (DOGE) in the crypto money field, came to the fore this time with his comment on a tweet about the metaverse.
Elon Musk responds to Dogecoin founder’s metaverse tweet
Elon Musk seems to think that the “metaverse” thing is confusing in a tweet he took today morning. So, if you’re confused about the metaverse, which has become a hugely popular concept lately, you’re not alone. Elon Musk responded to the tweet by Billy Markus, the co-founder of Dogecoin, with a smiley emoji addressing that no one could explain what the metaverse is about.

Billy Markus, who uses the nickname Shibetoshi Nakamoto on Twitter, tweeted, “I’m excited about the Metaverse because it’s not defined in any way. So you can pretend it’s something you want to happen and you’re not wrong.” The term “metaverse”, first mentioned in Neal Stephenson’s sci-fi novel “Snow Crash”, has become one of the most spoken words of 2021 after technology giant Facebook changed its company name to Meta.
Metaverse projects in the crypto space also gained momentum in parallel with this big change of Facebook. Projects such as Axie Infinity (AXS), Decentraland (MANA), The Sandbox (SAND), one of the most popular metaverse-oriented ecosystems, attracted the attention of many people. AXS has gained over 12,000 percent since the beginning of the year. While this amount was 3,511 percent for MANA, SAND increased by over 9,600 percent in one year.
